The hamlet of SHENVAL has strong ties with the past …

Go over the bridge off the A831 road and discover a hidden oasis of greenery and serenity.  Or walk or cycle the waymarked forest trails from Drumnadrochit, by Loch Ness, to prehistoric Corrimony Chambered Cairn and take in the special atmosphere of our tiny village.

The hamlet derives its name from the Gaelic “Seanabhaile”, meaning “ancient village”. Ancient it is indeed, with the best preserved remnant of several Shenval prehistoric houses - known as hut circles- to be found in our own back garden, dating back to the Bronze Age (2,500 years B.C.).

Not sure if there was any Shenval B and B activity then!
