We expect to reopen Shenval B&B to visitors from 26 April 2021, subject to Scottish Government restrictions in force at that time. Our Shenval B&B Covid policy will remain fully in place, as described below.

As we are all aware, these are exceptional times. As tourist accommodation providers, we have had to adapt to these changes to keep our guests, our community and ourselves safe. Of course we do hope that all the measures described below are provisional and that we all get back to “normal” as soon as possible. Rest assured the welcome will still be as warm as ever.

Please be aware that all guidance given below is as per the Scottish Government guidelines, which may differ from those applying to England, Wales and Northern Ireland and are kept under constant review.

Please refrain from travel or visiting tourism and hospitality services if you have symptoms of illness or others in your household are unwell or symptomatic – please check with
NHS Inform  if you are unsure or need further advice.

To allow for social distancing, we will welcome only two guests at any one time, in one room : either the double room downstairs, with ensuite shower room and exclusive use of adjacent toilet, or, for guests who prefer a twin room, the twin room upstairs with exclusive use of the adjacent bathroom and toilet.

All bookings will have to be for a minimum of two nights.

For the time being, we will no longer offer an optional evening meal. Of course we will advise about where to dine locally.

We are sorry but for safety reasons, we will not be providing a hospitality tray in the room, but we will still provide hot drinks on request.

Guidance for our visitors

Before ringing the doorbell please use the hand sanitiser placed at your disposal outside the entrance door and each time you enter the house.

Please carefully wash your hands before entering the dining room to have breakfast.

Please refrain from having any contact with furniture, books, etc, while in the dining room.

Social distancing will be a reciprocal prerequisite for all interaction, while having a friendly chat, having/serving breakfast...

Do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries about Covid-19 before or while staying with us.

Unfortunately we can’t offer you a handshake or a helping hand on arrival. To not greet our guests with a heartfelt handshake goes against what we are all about. In spite of it all, we will endeavour to keep as close as possible to what makes Shenval B&B so special and such a friendly, warm place to stay.

We look forward to welcoming you in our home !
