Sunday 14th, Inverness Half Marathon & Fun Run. Close to Shenval B&B, this is an annual run which takes place in the heart of Inverness, running alongside the River Ness and below Inverness Castle before continuing along towards Loch Ness. More from HERE or Phone: 07867 516624

Only minutes away from Shenval B&B, the Corrimony black grouse safaris will be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2nd to 25th April. Join RSPB staff for an early morning trip by minibus through Corrimony nature reserve to see one of Scotland's most rare and beautiful birds. Visit a lek, where male black grouse posture and call, competing to win the sought after position of top bird as the sun rises.
Bring your binos. There is also the option of returning to your car on foot (6 km and down hill all the way. Meet at Corrimony Cairn car park,3 minutes' drive from Shenval Bed & Breakfast, 10 miles (16km) west of Loch Ness, off A831 between Cannich & Drumnadrochit Grid Ref: NH385303. MAY
31st TGO Challenge : from Friday 14th till Friday 28th, this well established entirely non-competitive event aims to foster good fellowship among walkers within the framework of a challenging expedition. It takes 300 long distance walkers on a self-supported trek on a variety of routes over an average 180 miles across the Highlands from the West Coast between Ardrishaig and Torridon to the North Sea shores between Arbroath and Fraserburgh. Some participants on one the favourites routes through Glen Affric will be stopping over at Shenval B&B once more. We extend a very warm welcome to them!
In addition to several low level walks, no less than a total of 9 Munros, 1 Corbett and 1 Graham feature in the 7th Glen Affric Walking Festival, on Shenval B&B's doorstep. Outta Affic, this 7th Glen Affric Walking Festival, will take place from Friday 28th May until Monday 31st May. A very varied programme will cater for a wide spectrum of interests. Among attractions featured are a tree planting session, an intoduction to path building and maintenance, a foray into illicit whisky distilling and Iron Age fort history and of course challenging high level walks with a hint of map reading and an introduction to river crossing, navigation skills and flora and fauna discovery. JUNE
Saturday 19th, Highland Cross Duathlon 2010, Kintail to Beauly, near Shenval B&B. The Highland Cross is a 50-mile duathlon (20 miles on foot, 30 miles on bike) traversing the spectacular Scottish Highlands coast to coast, west to east from Kintail through Glen Affric and Strathglass to Beauly. Entry to the Highland Cross is by INVITATION ONLY for 240 teams of 3 (720 persons) of all athletic abilities; walkers, joggers, runners and cyclists. As a result of the huge number of requests for application forms, Highland Cross 2010 is now greatly oversubscribed. No more requests for application forms can be accepted.
